Warped: Boobies and Bandanas

I think this will be the last of my Warped Overload pictures. I have some other things to show off, but they won’t be in massive posts like this.

Yesterday, I picked up some awesome Keep-a-Breast gear! I got a bag, two pins and a shirt. My mom became the proud owner of the flag. I only have it because she put it with all my stuff, hah.

As for the bandanas, well, my mom got the Trojan one along with a shitton of condoms. She just gave them to my brother. He is too busy laughing at the “how to put a condom on” picture to really care that they’re condoms. For a 17 year old, he’s clearly not ready for sex, hahahahah. But seriously, if he laughs like that at pictures…well, I don’t even want to picture the rest. I also got a free Vans one and a Tilly’s one. And the Kia one? I decorated that myself in like five minutes. It’s pretty, haha.

Warped: FOXY SHAZAM!

Yeahhhhh. I am so glad I met these men. They’re awesome and I love them. They put on such a fantastic set. It was ridiculous, energy-filled and completely dance-worthy. It can also be noted that their facial hair is quite extraordinary. AND THEN THERE’S ERIC NALLY.

I wish these guys would tour with Gogol Bordello. That would make for an excellent tour.

Warped: Highlights from my Mother’s Camera

My mom took all of these photos. I even told her I wanted to use some of them on my blog. She didn’t care.

Remember these shirts? And how much I ranted about them? I wasn’t kidding when I said that I’d be seeing a LOT of them at Warped. I did. It was atrocious, especially seeing them on 12 year old girls and guys who didn’t seem to give a fuck. Also, can we please note the irony that the model is next to two of those obnoxious looking bracelets that say ‘Respect’ and ‘YO! Self.’ That’s probably not the best way to respect yourself…

This was the schedule for the day! Hooray for the big, giant inflatable schedule. Also, my mom didn’t want to stay past 6:30, so I did miss some of the bands I wanted to see, but that’s okay.

The Word Alive’s merch guy was pretty adorable, hah.

Apparently the latest trend of the Warped kids is to get glitter tattoos ala Ke$ha. That’s not attractive at all either. I saw some GUYS with them during The Wonder Years’ set and I almost busted out laughing at them. Body paint was also a big thing this year. I was not impressed.

Oh! It’s Fred Mascherino! I missed the Terrible Things’ set, but my mom caught him doing something. I remember meeting him at my very first Warped Tour!

So apparently this was Shiragirl. Um…I don’t remember Shiragirl looking like this…or wanting to be a Millionaires lookalike of sorts…I listened to some of her new stuff when I figured out who this was, and I was appalled. It’s completely different from her original stuff. It’s somewhat depressing when artists change with the times.

MY MOTHER SAW THE GUYS OF BLOOD ON THE DANCE FLOOR AND WHEN I SAW THESE PICTURES I PRETTY MUCH BUSTED OUT LAUGHING. It is very lol-worthy. Their set was absolute shit and the lead singer told the crowd (full of underage girls…) to “show some boobies!” or he wouldn’t sing. UM. THERE ARE SO MANY THINGS WRONG WITH THAT. Also, I had to endure their set while in line for the Foxy Shazam signing. It was atrocious. Also, can we please just laugh at their um…choice of apparel?

That concludes the highlights of my mother’s pictures that I felt were blogworthy. It was pretty entertaining to see what she took pictures of, only because she doesn’t really take pictures of bands. She did the BOTDF ones because she thought that they were the most…interestingly dressed people she saw. She also took pictures of Black Veil Brides and Motionless in White, and told me that the only people who could do face paint was KISS (who were in Scranton the night before Warped). Needless to say, she wasn’t impressed.

Warped: The Bands.

Today was actually pretty nice. It was probably the “chilliest” Warped I’ve ever been to. It might also be my last. That’s a different story though. I didn’t get to see all of the bands I wanted to, and unfortunately, I was subjected to listening to Blood On The Dance Floor while waiting in line for Foxy’s signing. My ears…they are bleeding. I still had fun though, and that’s what counts. Also, Foxy was the only band whose members I got to meet. Radical.

OH! And I walked through Unwritten Law’s set when we were leaving, and I “watched” We Came as Romans with Hunter. By “watch” I mean stand behind a bunch of ridiculously tall people and pretend to watch their set. I enjoyed the music though.

I had fun. I’m so sore right now due to the fact that Montage Mountain is literally a mountain. I have hiker’s legs now, haha.

I saw Relient K. Matt Thiessen has some rockin’ sideburns now.

Then I saw Foxy Shazam. In the entire four years I’ve gone to Warped, theirs was my all-time favorite. I mean that too. Their set. Words can’t describe their antics, but pictures can! Eric Nally is crazy as fuck and I love him so much.

Then I saw August Burns Red. This was my first time seeing them, and it was incredible. They told the crowd (I was on the VIP risers) to form a giant circle pit around the sound guy.

Then Hunter and I caught some of The Aggrolites set when we were eating. I enjoyed what we saw of their set. After them, D.R.U.G.S. played, and honestly? I was not a fan of their live set. I’m much more partial to Craig Owens being in Chiodos.

The last band that I saw today was The Wonder Years. I loved their set! Unfortunately, my camera died in the middle of their set. Their set was incredibly fun.

Things I’m Looking Forward To:

  • WARPED! [July 14 in Scranton. SUP PA!]
  • State College! [July 17. ARTSFEST! Then again on July 21!]
  • THE BEACH! [Sometime in August. I forget when it is.]
  • MOVE-IN DAY! [August 19 or 20!]
  • STARTING CLASSES AT UNIVERSITY PARK!

such a joke -_____-

Is this honestly necessary? I mean, really.
A Day to Remember is just an alright band, nothing special. Their older stuff definitely is much better than the newer stuff they’re putting out.
But the fact that their faces are literally on the stage? REALLY? Well, at least I’ll have something to laugh at if this keeps up at Warped.

This is The Rocket Summer performing ‘You Tell Me To Live’ at the Scranton Warped Tour.

Honestly, this is my favorite bit at the end of ‘So, In This Hour…’ and it’s probably one of the most incredibly moving songs I’ve seen live.

Okay, the last set! And this set will include some of the rest of my shots from the shows, and then my signed AltPress. I bring mine along every year, and this year some of the bands didn’t even know that it was out, and while they signed, they ended up reading some of it :)

This is part two of my photos from Warped yesterday :)
It’s going to be a three-part series, sorry.

This is part one of pictures I took at Warped in Scranton this year. It was a very productive year, and probably the most fun I’ve had at Warped ever :)

It’s a shame some of these turned out grainy…but I’m still okay with that :)
These also are not pictures from all the bands I saw. These were just the ones I liked, with a sampling of bands.

You Know It’s Summer When…

+Your 16 year old brother blasts The Devil Wears Prada and Enter Shikari quite loudly from his speakers. This can only mean Warped Tour is nearing!
+Your pool gets opened the day after Memorial Day…when it should have been opened at least two weeks ago.
+THE WEATHER IS JUST SO GORGEOUS AND HOT AND NICE AND YOU WANT TO STAY OUTSIDE FOREVER TANNING.

Feel free to reblog and add on with your thoughts.

Day 07.
A Song That Reminds You Of An Event.

‘Labyrinth’ by Enter Shikari is one that I have been playing for days now.  I love this band, and I love this song, and it reminds me that I will be seeing them this summer at Warped Tour! I’m incredibly pumped to see them live :)
