Guys…I graduated! Oh, and I had some pretty fierce shoes, if I do say so myself.
I’m proud to say that I am now an alumna of The College of Communications at Penn State!
Most Obscure Places to Take Your Grad Photos →
Tired of sitting in line for the traditional places to take your grad photos? We have a series of some obscure options.
These are my graduation photos. I think they’re fantastic. I just hope my family has the same sense of humor I do with them!
Today, most of the Onward State seniors took graduation photos in some pretty obscure places…including the 12th floor of Penn Tower on a balcony (in some random guy’s apartment)
BUT LOOK AT THIS VIEW! It’s beautiful.
So…this happened last night during Brand New’s set.
I went back to the press tent after I did that, and one of the OS photogs came back and said something along the lines of, “Meghin, were you just crowdsurfing? I SWEAR I just saw someone that looked like you, but I didn’t think it was you, but I snapped a picture!” “Um, Dave, that WAS me! Surprised?”
And basically Brand New’s set was so incredible and I’m so happy that I was able to see them (and survive in the crowd, hah) before I graduate from here. It was worth being in the rough crowd. It was worth somehow getting pushed so close to the stage (because I’m small and kept moving forward?). It was worth being there so much. It was such an incredible set.
Most importantly, I’ve waited years for the moment to see Brand New, and I finally was able to. It was just…such an amazing experience. I’m just sad that Hunter and his friends couldn’t come up for the show, as I know they would’ve really enjoyed it. Actually, I’m just really glad Hunter got into Brand New because he’s had some questionable music tastes over the years.
At least now I can say I’m graduating in a week (holy shit!) and that I had this seriously awesome moment before leaving Penn State. It just made my concert experience so much better and memorable.
Brand New - April 26, 2013 at Penn State’s Movin’ On.
I’m seeing Brand New tomorrow. This is not real life. I can hardly believe it. AND IT’S A FREE SHOW. I love my school so so so so much.
Senior Column: Keep Your Head Up →
This is my senior column for Onward State. It’s not going to be my last post, since I have some stuff to write for later this week, but it’s a bittersweet moment.
I’m really proud of this post, despite the only PSU-related picture I could find to fit the dimensions needed for the post was from when I started up here, had shorter hair, and different glasses. But that just goes to show how much I’ve changed in two short years, haha.
I’m not ready to graduate. I’ve got less than ten days to go, and I’m just…freaking out about it.
Chris Hardwick Gives Audience Comedy Hard-On →
On Monday night, comedian Chris Hardwick kept the mood in Alumni Hall a jovial one, with his blend of nerd humor.
I’m actually super proud of this OS post. It’s probably the raunchiest thing I’ve ever written for the site. I don’t think I’ve ever written something with a written forewarning before, haha. His set was absolutely hilarious though, and I enjoyed it greatly!
PSU Bucket List
So, I’m about to graduate in two weeks, and I never really blogged about my PSU Bucket List. Or maybe I have and I just forgot, but nonetheless, I’m awake at 3 am and have decided that now is a good time to put it all out. Since I am about to graduate, most of the things on the list are things that I’ve already done. But I still have a few other things to hit before I go!

This’ll be interesting to see how it all goes.
Good Old War is Coming to Penn State! →
This is exciting news. They’ll be here March 16th, and it’s a free show! I’m super stoked for this :)
Aaron Carter’s coming to perform at Cafe on April 24th?
I’M SO IN.
Maybe it’s just me, but the fact that Brand New is opening for MGMT and Big Boi is slightly disturbing. Shouldn’t those two acts be opening for Brand New?
