The Grammys.
The Grammys are by far one of the best and most exciting events in music today. In fact, tonight was incredible. I witnessed Lady Gaga and Sir Elton John open the Grammys tonight, and was completely blown away. And now, I am witnessing some of the cast of ‘American Idiot’ do their rendition of ’21 Guns’ by Green Day. And once again, I am completely blown away. To be honest, I like this...

Well, That Was Fun.
Today shall be a double post day. First things first though, my post about what my blog should be about :) Music. And my love of it.
I enjoy being an album reviewer. A lot. In fact, being an album reviewer has exposed me to new artists, that I generally would not have heard of, unless I went and looked for new music. Now, it’s just coming to me.
I really like what I’m doing. I...

Today, I am posting a picture of something that makes me angry. And nothing makes me angrier more than fake stuff. I could go off on a rant about how much I hate fake stuff, but I won’t. I dealt with the repercussions in 10th grade when I did a research paper about it.
So here is a picture of some fake bags.
Where the City Sleeps, We Rule the Streets.
So. Second blog post within an hour. I’m GOING to get back on track with the true meaning of this blog.
Today, I am going to discuss towns. As I stayed in Richmond last night, I was like, I need this. I want to get out of Lebanon, and move to a nice metropolitan area, with a thriving music scene. And what got me thinking about this, was the restaurant we ate at was right next to the...

So today, I’m sitting somewhere in Richmond, Virginia, at Richmond Fencing Club. I’m sitting here with a lot of my friends, most of which I’ve met through Hunter and fencing, and doing my spanish homework.
If there’s one thing I know, my brother loves fencing just as much as I love music. And today, I am going to watch him in a tournament, the first one of 2010. This is...

My favorite book, hands down, is…well. The Catcher in the Rye by JD Salinger. I had to read it for a book report in 9th grade, and ever since, I have been in love with it. I don’t think I need to go into too much detail as to why this is my favorite book. But I do suggest that you all go and read it :)

Today, I shall discuss my favorite television show. And of course, I’m going to take it back a few years, when the OC was on the tube. I loved this show, and being the die-hard fan that I am, I brought every season with me to school. At the beginning of the show, I was a Ryan Atwood fan. But then I kept rewatching it, and was hardcore Seth Cohen all the way. I want a Seth Cohen-type...

So, I guess today would be my favorite movie. This one is a no-brainer. I have always loved The Lion King. I’m sure you all were expecting me to post some like, obscure indie film, or movies like The Ugly Truth, (500) Days Of Summer [which, by the way, I absolutely love] or even Little Miss Sunshine.
But, like I said, The Lion King. You heard me right. I absolutely love this movie, and...

Based on my last post, day one shall begin. My favorite song? That. Might actually be a little hard, considering how I have so many favorite songs. And this post will actually be pretty relevant to my blog, unlike some of the other posts, this will deal with music. And this actually, is really hard to write about. Surprisingly though, it’s not going to be something by Jack’s...
Days Go By.
I saw this on someone’s tumblr, and decided, oh hell, why not? It’s worth a try. A different change of pace than the other posts I have.
Day 01 — Your favorite song
Day 02 — Your favorite movie
Day 03 — Your favorite television program
Day 04 — Your favorite book
Day 05 — Your favorite quote
Day 06 — Whatever tickles your fancy
Day 07 — A photo that makes you happy
Day 08 —...

This Is Cute, You Should Watch It of the Day: If there is one thing that will never not be funny, it’s little kids reeancting scenes from adult TV shows. And to help me drive this fact home, here are a bunch of kids reeancting scenes from Jersey Shore.
Here’s another fact: MTV needs to replace The Situation with the kid playing The Situation in this video.

Hope For The Hopeless.
The earthquake that occurred in Haiti earlier this week just breaks my heart. In fact, this is a country that really didn’t have much to begin with, and after this devastating natural disaster, they really don’t have much left, either. I, like many others, wish that I could do something to help out the people in Haiti. In fact, if I could, I would fly down there right now to help...
Just One Of Those Days.
Today I sat and wondered, ‘Wouldn’t it be nice to just tune out the world automatically, with a song?’ And for that matter, without headphones either. Just once in a while, I would like to be able to tune out the world with a song, to fit the mood of the current scene, without the familiar white cords of the iPod headphones.
I think the world would seem much nicer that way.

Jake- Meghin, your tumblr posts are too long. I'm too lazy to read them all. I'm sure they're good and all.
Me (right now)- Jake, you are a lazy bum. So HERE YOU GO! An easy to read post. All for you. Now go read the rest of my blog ;) I'm fairly certain you'll like it.
It's a Hit.
So, once again I sat in my car today, listening to the radio. I’ve been spending too much time in my car listening to the radio, instead of the music I’ve come to love on my iPod. Anyway. I kept hearing the same songs over and over and over again. Which brought the question to my mind, ‘What makes a hit?’ Granted, hits can take many shapes, sizes, and forms, which I...

Just Listen.
Today I did something that I rarely do. I sat and drove for a good 45 minutes without singing to any of the songs on the radio. Instead, I sat and listened. To better understand, you need to know one thing. I hate mainstream radio nowadays. The only station I absolutely love that plays halfway decent music, is WXPN, based out of Philadelphia. This happens to be the station that I let sit on...
Music's in the Heart, Mind, and Soul, Not Just The...
So I’m beginning to think that instead of me blogging about life, and the possible meaning behind it, I should convert my tumblr into some sort of a music blog. I mean, I like music, and the world likes music. And I’ve decided on my career path, or rather, it chose me. Music Journalism. I always knew I wanted to be a journalist, because even at a young age, people told me that I...
